Zebra Technologies Corporation has announced the release of its QLn220 mobile printer at the NRF 101st Annual Convention and Expo. According to the company, the QLn220 prints two-inch labels and is ideal for healthcare specimen and pharmacy labels; retail shelf edge, price, markdown, and return labels and tags; and shipping labels. 

The QLn220 is the latest addition to the QLn mobile printer family, which was released last June. Features of the QLn product line include right-to-left printing capabilities, and the Zebra Basic Interpreter, a programming language that allows the QLn products to support standalone applications and connect to peripheral devices. 

“We will continue to provide the most innovative features necessary to meet the changing needs of our customer base,” said Scott Lane, product manager at Zebra Technologies. “For example, later in 2012, the QLn will offer new wireless radio technology, 802.11n, increasing overall efficiency and productivity for our customers.”

During the NRF show, Zebra Technologies announced a cooperative relationship and licensing agreement with OATSystems, a division of Checkpoint Systems, Inc., which furthers its offerings for retail. Bringing together Zebra’s active location products with OATSystems’ passive RFID, auto-identification and sensor capabilities, the companies aim to provide their customers with increased overall visibility of their assets.
